NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that a casual vacancy has occurred in the office of Councillor for Severn Stoke Parish following the resignation of Sue Faulkner.
If by 10th September 2025[1] a request for an election to fill said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer at the address below by TEN electors[2] for the said Parish, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
If an election is called, it will take place not later than within 60 days of the date of the notice of vacancy.

[1] Within 14 working days of the notice, ten electors can submit a written request for a by-election. These requests can be submitted individually, together, or in combination. In calculating dates for this purpose, exclude Saturday, Sunday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Good Friday and bank holidays.
[2] There is no form of words for this request, which might simply be a letter headed with such words as “We the undersigned being electors for the [Ward of] … Parish, call for an election to fill the vacancy arising from the [death][resignation] of …”. It is helpful if the ten signatures are accompanied by printed names and addresses.
Please note that this parish council has 4 (four) other seats available for immediate co-option – those vacancies having already been advertised and with no electors calling for the positions to be filled via an election.
